YSOs of the R CrA region through VLT - ISAAC spectroscopy ⋆
Near IR spectra at low (R∼800) and medium (R∼9000) resolution, obtained with ISAAC at VLT, have been used to pose constraints on the evolutionary state and accretion properties of a sample of five embedded YSOs located in the R CrA core. This sample includes three Class I sources (HH100 IR, IRS2 and IRS5), and two sources with NIR excesses (IRS6 and IRS3). IRS5 and IRS6 have been discovered to ...

Aims. The aim of this study is to investigate the nature of radio sources associated with young stellar objects (YSOs) belonging to the R CrA cluster. By combining the centimetre radio data with the wealth of shorter wavelength data accumulated recently we wish to refine estimates of the evolutionary stages of the YSOs. Methods. The region was imaged at 3, 6, and 20 cm using the Australia Teles...

The ‘Holiverse’: holistic eversion of the 2-sphere in R
We give a short, simple and conceptual proof, based on spin structures, of sphere eversion: an embedded 2-sphere in R can be turned inside out by regular homotopy. Ingredients of this eversion are seamlessly connected. We also give the mathematical origins of the proof: the Hopf fibration, and the topological structure of real-projective 3-space.
متن کاملWillmore Surfaces of R 4 and the Whitney Sphere ?
We make a contribution to the study of Willmore surfaces in four-dimensional Euclidean space R4 by making use of the identification of R4 with two-dimensional complex Euclidean space C2. We prove that the Whitney sphere is the only Willmore Lagrangian surface of genus zero in R4 and establish some existence and uniqueness results about Willmore Lagrangian tori in R4 ≡ C2. Mathematics Subject Cl...
